Background
I'm the founder of Thoughtive, where I advise enterprise and life sciences leaders on AI strategy, enterprise architecture, AI governance, and the transformation work that makes AI deliver inside complex, regulated organizations.
I've spent my career at the intersection of technology strategy and execution—first as an engineer, then as an architect, and eventually as a technology executive responsible for enterprise-wide decisions.
My experience includes building AI and machine learning systems before the current wave, leading platform modernization efforts across regulated industries, and serving as CTO in environments where technology failures had real consequences.
I've worked with organizations ranging from growth-stage companies to Fortune 500 enterprises, and I've seen what separates successful technology initiatives from expensive failures.
Operating Philosophy
Technology decisions are rarely purely technical. The best architecture in the world fails if the organization can't adopt it. The most sophisticated AI model is worthless if it can't be maintained, governed, or trusted.
I approach problems by understanding the full context: technical constraints, organizational dynamics, regulatory requirements, and commercial realities. I look for solutions that are not just correct but sustainable.
I value clarity over cleverness, durability over novelty, and honest assessment over comfortable consensus.
The Problems I Gravitate Toward
I'm most useful when the problem is genuinely hard—when there are competing priorities, organizational complexity, technical uncertainty, or high stakes.
The work I find most engaging involves helping executive teams think clearly about AI strategy, making architectural decisions that will survive contact with reality, and navigating the organizational change that complex technology initiatives require.
